About the app and acceptance

Athar is a free app with no ads, subscriptions or purchases, offered by the Al-Hafi family as an ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah). It includes the Holy Quran, recitations, adhkar, a tasbih counter, prayer times, reminders and links to donate to official organisations. By using the app or atharapp.org you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Religious content

We take care that the Quran text and adhkar are accurate; their sources are listed under About → Sources and rights in the app and on the credits page. If you find an error, report it with "Report a text error" or through the support page and we will correct it in the next update.

Prayer times and notifications

Prayer times are calculated astronomically on your device and may differ by a few minutes from the official calendar in your country; follow the official calendar or your mosque's adhan if they differ. Notifications and reminders are local and may be delayed or blocked by the operating system, for example when notifications are off or battery saving is on.

Donations

The app does not collect donations, receive any money or take any commission. Donation buttons open the official website of the chosen organisation after you confirm; any donation is made directly between you and that organisation under its own terms and policies. The app has no commercial relationship with these organisations and is not responsible for their services or how they use donations.

Acceptable use

• Use the app for lawful, personal purposes.
• Do not attribute the app or its content to anyone else, or publish modified copies as the original.
• Do not republish fonts, recitations or other third-party content in ways their licences do not allow.

Content rights

The app's design and original text belong to the Al-Hafi family. Mushaf fonts, recitations, recordings and Arabic fonts belong to their owners and are used under the licences listed on the credits page and in the third-party notices file inside the app.

External sites and services

The app relies on two external services for Mushaf page fonts and recitations, and opens the websites of donation organisations. These are not run by us and are governed by their own terms.

Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and free of charge. We work to keep it correct and available, without a guarantee that it is error-free or that the external services it relies on will always be available. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect damage arising from its use.

Changes

We may update these terms with app updates; the date of the last update is shown at the top. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the updated terms.
