In short: the app has no accounts, collects no data about you, and contains no ads, analytics or tracking. Everything you save stays on your device.

Who we are

"Athar: Quran & Adhkar" is a free app offered by the Al-Hafi family as an ongoing charity. This policy covers the Android and iPhone apps and the website atharapp.org.

What we do not collect

• No accounts or sign-in; we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
• No advertising, no analytics or usage measurement, and no crash reports sent to us.
• The app talks to no server of ours, so we hold no data about you to sell or share.

What stays on your device

The app keeps your settings on your device only: your chosen city or last known location (when "Automatic" is used), prayer-calculation and time-zone settings, reminder times and the notifications you turned on, dedication names, last page read and bookmark, reading theme, adhkar progress (restarts each day), tasbih progress and statistics, and the dedicated-recitations counter. All of it is removed when you delete the app or clear its data.

Location

When you choose "Automatic" for prayer times, the app asks for location permission and uses the coordinates on your device only to calculate prayer times and the time zone. On Android only approximate location is requested, and location is never requested in the background. Your coordinates are never sent to any server. You can always pick your city manually instead.

Notifications

Prayer alerts, the Friday Al-Kahf reminder and the daily reminders you turn on (morning and evening adhkar, tasbih, Quran reading) are local notifications created on your device. They pass through no server and use no push token.

Internet connections

The app connects to two services only, and only when needed:

• Quran Foundation (verses.quran.foundation): the font for a Mushaf page the first time you open it. The Mushaf text itself is built into the app.
• islamic.network (cdn.islamic.network): the audio file when you play a recitation.

These services receive the standard technical data of any web request, such as IP address, device type and the requested file (page or verse number). We send them nothing about you; their own policies govern that data.

Donation links

The app does not collect donations and never sees payment details. When you tap a donation card and confirm, the organisation's official website opens in your device's browser (Safari on iPhone). The organisations are Tkiyet Um Ali, Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and the Sharjah Charity Association; each has its own privacy policy.

Sharing and copying

When you tap "Share" or "Copy", your device's share sheet or clipboard is used and you choose where it goes. The app never sends anything on its own.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.

Security

All of the app's connections are encrypted (HTTPS), and its content security policy blocks connections to anyone else. Your data never leaves your device in the first place.

Deleting your data

We hold no data about you to delete. To remove what is on your device, delete the app, or on Android open Settings → Apps → Athar → Storage → Clear data. More on the data deletion page.

Our website atharapp.org

The website is static pages with no cookies, no analytics and no third-party fonts or scripts. The hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address) for security.

Changes to this policy

If what the app does with data changes, we will update this page and its date before releasing the update, and the text remains available inside the app.
